Africsearch recruits head of human ressource west africa description du poste / fonctions / attributions : position purpose: the position holder leads the hr function in the country group west africa in all hr topics. this position holder serves the senior bayer representative and the line management of all bayer businesses in west africa and acts as the interface and key point of contact to the bayer group hr community. the position holder develops and ensures the efficient local implementation and application of agreed upon bayer hr directives, policies, processes, systems and programs throughout the organization in the countries comprising the country group west africa. he/she also seeks agreement with the global hr community on any adjustments to meet specific local business or legal needs. major tasks and responsibilities of position: he/she ensures the implementation and application of agreed upon bayer hr directives, policies, processes, systems and programs throughout the west african country group and strives for the standardization, harmonization and alignment of local hr activities across the sub groups and services companies wherever possible, but always with the business requirements in mind. he/she executes effective local talent management (tm) initiatives in line with the global bayer group tm strategy to attract, identify, develop and retain the right employees and to maintain a powerful talent pipeline in the west african country group. he/she provides support and guidance to the sbr and the senior local management thus enabling them to drive the talent management agenda including managing the bayer group personnel & organization conference (poc) process with the country council in the west african country group. by doing so he/she helps the line management to align employees’ capabilities to the mid-to-long-term business needs. he/she nominates hr professionals to fill any future open positions in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders (e.g. head of hri and the global hr bps of the sub groups) and fosters hr succession planning and talent management. he/she manages labor law/litigation in close collaboration with law and patents ensuring adherence to applicable laws and bayer rules. support organizational changes (restructuring, mergers, acquisitions and divestments) providing appropriate solutions to the business from the hr perspective. he/she is responsible for hr marketing/employer branding thus ensuring that bayer will be an employer of choice in the west african country group. the position holder ensures hr governance throughout the west african country group. in addition he/she supports the senior bayer representative in the resolution of critical individual hr cases. he/she manages all local hr costs and provides transparent country figures on demand and strives for adequate transparency and efficiency of hr costs charged to the west african country group and assures that globally agreed upon budgeting rules are followed. the position holder proactively collaborates with the head of hri which includes information exchange about all relevant issues and escalates relevant topics to global decision bodies whenever necessary. he/she drives the creation and circulation of hr management information throughout the west african country group. as part of the hr community he/she encourages and promotes the use of best hr practices in the west african country group and embraces international collaboration. description du profil du candidat: education: preferably a university degree or equivalent, especially with the main focus on human resources english and french languages should be fluent both in the spoken and written form. skills/experiences: several years in managerial hr positions in a west african country, notably in the ivory coast and, preferably in a multi-national company environment. intensive knowledge about the legal employment conditions and ability to quickly embrace the bayer group hr policies and requirements complete set of wide hr competencies: labour law, compensation & benefits, people development with a clear focus on talent acquisition. professional leadership experience role model for the bayer life values, leadership, integrity, flexibility and efficiency team-oriented leadership skills honed through experience with senior management communications strategy and messaging skills with the ability to build long term partnerships with internal management & staff, including the various relevant representatives of workers groups and external stakeholders experienced in multidisciplinary project- and corresponding change management understanding of complex business issues and strategies international experienced and capability to work in a multicultural environment good understanding of financial impacts derived from hr decisions and policies strong ability to give the vision to the local hr organization while being able to facilitate and make decisions in operational hr areas. good business acumen take a strong stand with management if required work experience of 10-15 years of hr management
